Samantha Linnett is a civic innovator and public affairs professional. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Public Administration from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University.
Prior to this, she served as the Innovation Design Lead for the City of Syracuse's Office of Accountability, Performance, and Innovation (i-team). Here, she worked with her team to research, develop, implement and analyze policy initiatives for the City. Samantha used her communications and human-centered-design skills to perform community outreach and manage stakeholder relations, as well project manage initiatives to address City challenges. The majority of her work with the Innovation Team centered around housing policy and public engagement. She has previously worked with the City’s Division of Code Enforcement to improve the health and safety of residents’ homes. Most recently she focused on finding ways to reduce the number of forced moves that Syracuse residents face every year, including eviction prevention.
Before starting with the i-team, Samantha studied at Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. She graduated in May 2016 with her Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations and Public Policy.
Samantha is passionate about the field of civic innovation. She plans to continue to be a life-long learner in this space and to grow both professionally and personally in her public service work. When not working, Samantha enjoys traveling, cooking, wine tasting, reading a good book (or attempting to write one) and spending time with family and friends (and her cat).
